THE LAW OFFICES OF JAMES K. SWEENEY

As an attorney I practice in those areas listed in the left hand column of this page. By clicking on a practice area, you will be connected to a more complete description for your review and information.

I represent a diverse group of individual and business clients. Individual client matters may include litigation, real estate, pre-nuptial agreements, divorce or financial counsel. Business clients range from a several hundred million dollar public company to a just-organized start-up with a big idea but a small bank account. In between is a variety of clients with many concerns running from legal malpractice to collection on a judgment to the determination of paternity or the merits of an appeal.

My approach to client matters is more practical than theoretical. For example, as opposed to most lawyers, I am an experienced executive who understands business operations, technology and real estate as well as the legal issues frequently related with such matters. When appropriate, I engage qualified support counsel so as to provide clients with complete, professional legal advice. Thus wide-ranging capabilities are available but without the massive overhead and higher fees associated with the larger firms.

In addition, I believe in establishing a personal relationship with our clients. That way I understand not just their legal problems but their personal and business goals. I think that helps me better serve the client's total needs not simply their legal needs.
